Broders’ Pasta Bar

About

  • 10-25, $$, $$$

Since 1994 Broders' Pasta Bar has been serving house made and quality imported pastas and risottos, focusing both on Italian regional traditions as well as seasonal & local ingredients. We source from Midwest farms, when possible, and grow vegetables in our own parking lot garden (weather permitting, of course!) but really, it's about the pasta. Located across W. 50th Street from Broders’ Cucina Italiana, the original deli and specialty food shop, Molly and Tom Broder opened the Pasta Bar - to cook the pasta they were selling the way it was meant to be: fresh, al dente, perfectly sauced and thoughtfully executed. Still, and always, family owned and operated, Broders' continually strives to serve great Italian food and wine from our corner in Southwest Minneapolis. We hope to welcome you, whether at the Cucina, Pasta Bar, or the newest addition, Terzo, our contemporary Italian restaurant & wine bar. Saluti!

Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere, top-notch chefs, and lovely wait staff! Service is incredible -- personable, spot-on wine pairings, attentive...I could go on and on! This visit we were seated at the rail and enjoyed watching the talent of your chefs and their attention to detail--they just don't stop!! During conversation we learned that our server, the couple next to us and my husband all had February birthdays....our evening wrapped up with a little 'surprise' dessert! What a thoughtful gesture - Thank you!!We live an hour west but make a point to drive in for an always enjoyable and DELICIOUS night out!

THE GOOD - food was amazing as usual (think rich sauces and fresh homemade pasta) 🍝, and the people on the phone were nice. THE BAD - prices are high for portion sizes 💰 AND.........THE UGLY - when order was placed online (5:30 pm) wait time listed as 30 minutes 😊. Email at 5:40 pm said pickup at 7:50 pm - no options to cancel order 😡. Arrived at jam-packed parking lot at 7:50 pm 😳- called phone number on sign to coordinate pickup. After 40 minute wait and six phone calls (placed on hold and eventually disconnected each time) we left 😡. Back home at 8:40 pm, Broders called to ask if I was going to pickup my order 😂. Drove back over to pickup order and finally got home with order at 9:15 pm 💤 😴.

Top 3 things:1. Fettuccine Bolognese - the best - get it2. Staff is extremely friendly/knowledgeable and I have seen the same faces there for years3. This is an ideal date night restaurant for a coupleThings I wish I knew ahead of time:1. No reservations so get here early if you can2. Don't forget about the patio - different menu but also excellent

Questions & Answers

No, try calling a 1/2 hour before you go to get on "the list" Arriving before 5 pm helps, waiting line usually forms on weekends about 4:20 pm. I heard the list was going away...

No, I don't think they have.

Agree, Broder's deli will have what you need to make lasagna. The Pasta Bar is the restaurant part of Broder's.

They absolutely do across the street at broders cucina itiliana (which is cafe style and more of a mini itilian market). The pasta bar is a restaurant.

No, but definitely worth the wait!

No they dont. You can wait on a small wine bar.

I don't think they take them but if you go after 8 there are good deals and not busy

Broders doesn't take reservations. Theres usually at least a 30 minute wait for two
